Aerial Yoga Teacher Training

24th to 27th May 2019

Aerial yoga uses a low hanging fabric to support the weight of the body and is an amazing experience. The additional support provided by the hammock enables practitioners to work deeply into the poses to achieve postural alignment.

If you are looking to teach aerial yoga or just immerse yourself in the hammock to extend your practice further, then this training is suitable for you. You do not have to be a qualified Yoga Teacher to take part in this training.

Course Outline

Janet takes a structured approach through the sequences giving you the opportunity to practice teaching from Day 1. In addition, aerial classes will be delivered to you by other teachers from The Yoga Studio so you can experience different styles of teaching and content. Janet’s intention is to provide you with the tools to teach aerial yoga YOUR WAY!

There is a practical and theoretical exam.

During this course you will learn to:

  • Use the hammock safely and develop a personal practice

Meet your Teacher - Janet Richards

Janet didn’t discover yoga until she was 46 years of age. She was suffering from stress and poor health and turned to yoga as an act of desperation. Slowly she regained her health and control of her life with the help of a regular yoga practice and in 2013 went to India to study with Sonja Appel at Sushumna Yoga. She found this a profound and life changing experience. She has continued her yoga journey training with Paul and Suzee Grilley, Bernie Clark, Lucy Crawford Scott, Karen Kirkness Breneman and Josh Summers.

She is the owner of the successful The Yoga Studio, a small boutique yoga studio and she is delighted to be hosting this event in the historic City of Carlisle in Cumbria.

Aerial Yoga

A brilliant course, well structured and taught, accommodating each person for their own individualities, yet bringing us together as a group.
The studio is just beautiful & the essence of its prana on walking in for the first time just instantly made me feel settled. The warm personal welcoming just adding even more quality. In fact this even started prior to enrolling with all questions being answered and time given there.
The manuals are both excellent guidance and reference, with ample space to jot down personal notes & reminders & how we worked through these, being taught in sections and the sequencing classes was a lovely way of learning, giving time for processing, questions and practice.
I so enjoyed the influx of other qualified teachers coming in sharing their own personal style of teaching and further knowledge, just broadening our personal scope and opening our minds and hearts further.
Having this constantly backed by Janet’s beautiful qualities and teachings, along with heart felt intention to carry us all through, really just sums up a great course.
It’s fun, it’s full and Janet is always still looking for ways to improve it further, taking everyone’s opinions. Take mine & just go and do it.
