Aerial Yoga Teacher Training
Friday 22nd to Monday 25th May 2020
Aerial yoga uses a low hanging fabric to support the weight of the body and is an amazing experience. You do not have to be a qualified Yoga Teacher to take part in this training.
Martin takes a structured approach through the sequences giving you the opportunity to practice teaching from Day 1. Meet Your Teacher – Martin Scott
My Yoga journey started in 2008, when I certified as a yoga teacher at Sivananda Ashram in India . I had been travelling for many years and yoga seemed to be something that always showed up everywhere.
Working as a massage therapist since 1999 yoga seemed to fit what I done for a living – I made people feel better. People would come to me suffering bad backs at an early age, pulled necks from sitting at desks all day and I thought- could yoga not help these people too?
After certifying as yoga teacher i came back to Carlisle and started teaching at the studio in 2011, seeing the studio change so much over the years has been an eye opener as to what our current society needs – we need rest and time to look after ourselves. I find yoga a nurturing but strong practice, I love to play around with fun flows and to work slightly slower building deeper awareness of the body.
On my travels I was taught meditation in Ashrams, from buddhist monks, wise hill tribe leaders and Thai masters. I then travelled to Miami and certified in Budokon yoga. I also trained as a level 2 Aerial Yoga teacher and teach the Aerial yoga teacher training here at the studio.
However my yoga practice (and life) changed when I met Emma, here at the yoga studio Carlisle. Her passion for Ashtanga Yoga was so strong and I started to practice it with her.
Back then there was next to no Ashtanga in Cumbria, so we’d practice together and I’d learn from her. Fast forward a few years later I’ve trained as an ashtanga yoga teacher receiving certification to teach primary series by Manju Jois himself.
I own and direct the studio alongside Emma and I think together – we are the perfect balance of Yin and yang.
I create a calming but fun space when I teach, always offering variations so a diverse mix of students can attend my classes. I enjoy welcoming new yogis to the practice and supporting avid practitioners as well, together we all make up the amazing practice of yoga.
A brilliant course, well structured and taught, accommodating each person for their own individualities, yet bringing us together as a group.
The studio is just beautiful & the essence of its prana on walking in for the first time just instantly made me feel settled. The warm personal welcoming just adding even more quality. In fact this even started prior to enrolling with all questions being answered and time given there.
The manuals are both excellent guidance and reference, with ample space to jot down personal notes & reminders & how we worked through these, being taught in sections and the sequencing classes was a lovely way of learning, giving time for processing, questions and practice.
I so enjoyed the influx of other qualified teachers coming in sharing their own personal style of teaching and further knowledge, just broadening our personal scope and opening our minds and hearts further.
Having this constantly backed by Janet’s beautiful qualities and teachings, along with heart felt intention to carry us all through, really just sums up a great course.
It’s fun, it’s full and Janet is always still looking for ways to improve it further, taking everyone’s opinions. Take mine & just go and do it.
