Yoga Philosophy Course (20hrs) with Ruth Westoby

The History of Asana Through Asana with Ruth Westoby

In this three-hour workshop Ruth will weave together philosophy, mythology, history and practice. The session will begin with outlining the key doctrines of yoga philosophy and share mythological maps which can add depth to our practice. Ruth will use sitting and moving practices to explore not only philosophy and mythology but to give a sense of the historical development of practices over the last 2000 years. We will conclude the session by reviewing the integration of history and philosophy into practical sessions and have plenty of opportunity for discussion. Yoga has the potential to become embodied philosophy, illuminating and expressing ourselves and resonating throughout our lives.
