My journey onto the mat…

Conor is an Actor, Motion Capture Artist and Theatre Practitioner, originally from Cumbria.
He was first introduced to Yoga at drama school and continued to practice intermittently. If
you’d asked him at the time why he thought it was taught, he’d have answered, “so we’re fit
and flexible”.
As he graduated and began to navigate his chosen career path, he became acutely aware of
the lack of care the industry had to offer and this is where he began to reap the true
benefits of the practice.
With a persistent shoulder injury, he went to see an acupuncturist, for the first time, out of
sheer desperation and left with a book recommendation. Mimi Kuo-Deemer’s, Qigong and
the Tai Chi Axis. Throughout his actor training he had indirectly touched upon Qigong but
never truly understood it. Fascinated by it, he delved deep into the book.
Two years later he was a graduate of the inaugural 200 hours Daoist Flow Teacher Training
at Triyoga under the guidance of Jean Hall and Mimi Kuo-Deemer. Daoist Flow was the
perfect fit for Conor, weaving the parallels of Vinyasa Flow and Qigong together.
As a proud, regional, working-class man, Conor’s classes are affordable and accessible to all.
Particularly those from lower socioeconomic background who feel yoga is a closed door for
them. They are rooted in a down to earth tone, with a keen focus on quality and intention
of movement rather than top notch execution of asana. There’s loads he still can’t do.
We’re all human. People seem to think he has a sense of humour too.

My advice to students is…

“Yoga is the practice that’s personal to all, everyones yoga looks or feels different. Embrace your yoga and be you!”
