Inversions such as headstand/handstand and forearm balances are usually one of the first things we generally think about when we think of yoga poses! The principles of going upside down are the same whether you’re working with headstand, handstand or forearm balance.

Emma will allow you to choose which inversion you’d like to work on as everything we cover is the same for each inversion. You can swap between headstand/ forearm balance/ handstand throughout the workshop or stick to the same one!

The class will focus on preparing to be upside down, but what if we told you that you could build strength, awareness and a deeper understanding of your body by working the steps of inversions instead of getting hung up on getting right up?

Often when our foundations aren’t solid, our inversions aren’t either & you just can’t seem to get upside down!

During this class Emma will break down the elusive inversions, working strength, stability and alignment. We will explore different avenues of preparing for the inversion that will suit everyone’s bodies.
Strengthening your foundations, understanding what’s stopping you & what to do to work around that.

Those who are still working to lift their legs up will use props to work on the lift up and positioning. Those who can get into inversions will work into some variations such as lotus, splits and scorpion.

You’ll leave feeling invigorated, energised & excited to try headstand again!
This class is perfect for students who can’t get into an inversion without help and those who want to strengthen their practice and work on variations. As well as those who’d like to work on more variations and options.
